Razorfest
A day of games, bouncy houses, balloons and Razorback football!
On April 23rd Champions for Kids hosted their annual Razorfest event, presented by Walmart. This year, many non-profit organizations across Northwest Arkansas joined in the “pit” at Razorback stadium for a fun filled day for the children in our community. Champions for Kids, whose mission is to make it simple to give children in your community the resources they need to thrive, has long time partnered with the NWA Food Bank to ensure that those resources include enough food to fill their bellies.
In addition to the fun, the day included a food drive held before the University of Arkansas Red and White Game that afternoon. The food that was collected went to the University of Arkansas Full Circle Food Pantry, LifeSource International and the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. Once at the Food Bank, the food was distributed among 180 different food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and food programs to feed the hungry. Some partners for the food drive included Dannon, who donated several thousands of pounds of yogurt and also held in-store promotions leading up to the event, Walmart, Chobani, and many others. The goal was to raise 100,000 pounds of food.
The total amount of pounds raised has not yet been released.
