The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank had a very special visitor on March 24th: Jess Kurti. Jess Kurti’s goal is to volunteer at EVERY Feeding America Food Bank nationwide. When she arrived to volunteer in this area, she had volunteered at 110 of the almost 200 Feeding America Food Banks. Kurti’s mission is to raise awareness of our nation’s food banks and their fight against hunger and poverty, which she calls the “Beast of Burden Challenge.” Jess doesn’t just stop there. She also started this goal with another goal to run a marathon in all 50 states, which she completed with the Kauai Marathon on September 6th, 2015 (while she volunteered at four food banks in Hawaii.) After completing her first marathon goal, Kurti started a new goal of running 100 marathons and will run at least one per month in the location where she’s volunteering.

Jess said “I’m steadfastly chipping away on 2016’s volunteer and race schedule. My primary focus is to educate and engage the public, not only about the existence and importance of Feeding America’s network of food banks, but also how small contributions by each of us can make a tremendous difference in ending hunger."

Thank you Jess for all that you are doing!
