General Mills donated $20,000 to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank to purchase food items to supplement Samaritan Community Center’s Snack Pack program. Food items that were purchased, which included Ravioli, chicken noodle soup, mac n cheese, and granola bars, went to the Samaritan Community Center to supplement their Summer Snack Pack program.

On June 15th, over 70 team members from General Mills volunteered alongside Samaritan Community Center and the NWA Food Bank to pack 4,000 Snack Packs for children in Northwest Arkansas.

Currently, the Samaritan Community Center sends 8,500-9,000 Snack Packs to children aged 2-18 in 148 different schools in Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington Counties. With 24 schools on the waiting list to start this program, this generous donation from General Mills provided a way for members of the community to come together and address the issue of childhood hunger in Northwest Arkansas.
