The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank’s annual Jewels of Giving Gala reigns as a complete success.

The ninth annual event on Nov. 18 raised funds to provide more than 1.2 million meals for those in need in Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties, said Kent Eikenberry, president and CEO.That’s an increase of more than 210,000 meals raised at last year’s banquet.

Held at the John Q. Hammonds Center in Rogers, the evening of dinner, dancing and auctions was attended by 664 people, an increase of more than 100 people from a year.

“I'd like to thank our primary sponsor, Tyson Foods, and our other sponsors who assisted in the gala,” Eikenberry said about the Food Bank’s main fundraiser. In addition, he thanked the staff and volunteers for all their hard work.

The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank serves more than 150 food pantries and agencies in a four-county area.
