Food Bank annual meeting set for Feb. 23

The annual meeting for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank will be Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Jones Center, 922 E. Emma, in Springdale. The meeting will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The meeting is a way to thank the agencies as well as looking back on 2016 and updating things that will be happening in 2017, said Barbara Carter, Agency relations coordinator.

The Agency of the Year award will be presented. There also will several grants, valued at $250 and $500, awarded to recipient agencies to use as they choose. A copy of the application for the Agency of the Year award is available from the Food Bank office. Those applying should return their applications as soon as possible so the screening process can begin.

In addition, five $100 and three $50 credits for purchases at the Food Bank will be awarded to the agencies in attendance by random drawing. The agency must be present to win and only one certificate to each agency will be awarded.

In addition to the gift certificates and lots door prizes, refreshments will be served, she said.

Attending agencies are asked to RSVP to Carter at barbara.carter@nwafoodbank.org with the number of people from the agency that plan to attend the meeting.
